THE VIRTUE SAMPLAR

The Virtue Samplar is another design that is an oldie but it is still a hot seller, with a big red house, a deer climbing up the hill, with a tree with lots of birds and a verse.

This model was stitched on 35 count linen with GAST with a great conversion to DMC

I give credit to my wonderful friend Anna Baird (RIP) for stitching and her great ideas in this design.

GOLD HOUSE

This design was inspired by a colonial house
that I saw while on a trip to Tenn. and it gave
me the idea to give it a primitive look with some
Quaker motifs, I really enjoyed designing this
model and love the way it turned out.

This model was stitched with WDW with a good
conversion to DMC on 34 count Devonshire Cream
Legacy linen.

HEART'S REMEMBERED

I received lots of e-mails from
people asking me to design a sampler
to honor loved ones (family, friends)
that have touched our heart in so
many ways in our life and this is what
I came up with.

Model was stitched in GAT threads
with a good DMC conversion.

QUAKER HEART

I was honored to design this original
sampler for the front cover of FINE
LINES (Historic Needlework Guild Inc.
2002). I decided to do a Quaker sampler
and name it QUAKER HEART, which
I dedicated to my three grandschildren
(now I have four, how blessed can I be)

The linen for this design is included in
the chart since it was dyed exclusively
for this design and it is 36 count.

NOSEY LITTLE BIRD

NOSEY LITTLE BIRD is an oldie but it does
have a nice story to it since it was dedicated
to my husband, he was very nosey about it
when I was stitching it and would constantly
ask what are you doing now (every day) well
he was kind of getting on my nerves asking
me the same thing over, and over again so I
decided to add the blue bird on the roof of the
house and told him that was him (a nosey bird)

This model was stitched on 35 count linen from
EFTH with DMC and GAT with a conversion
to Anchor, the grass is done in satin stitch.

LOVE THE TRUTH

Another Quaker inspired design ,
but it was "Love The Truth" that
was the inspiration for it, since truth
is what makes marriages, families
and friendships strong and lasting.

The model is stitched on 34 count
linen with WDW threads and the
stitch count is 138w X 244h.

GRAPE SEASON

This is another oldie, but it hangs with great
honor in my house since it was stitched by a
wonderful friend Anna Baird (who died of Cancer)
and I feel in my heart that she guides me to
keep designing from heaven, she was a wonderful
lady and I am sure alot of you knew her because
she use to be "Green Mountain Hand-Dyed Linens"
and came out with two of my favorite colors, Muffin
and Cottonfield, which were her trademark. So thank
you Anna in heaven I will always remember you
with great love and gratefulness.

This model is stitched on 35 count linen and it has
a wonderful conversion to DMC.

MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND AND ALEX

Here is my most precious gift, my husband
Harold, we been married 37 years and I am
so blessed that God gifted me with such a
wonderful husband, I do not know what I
would do without him, he is not only the best
husband but a wonderful father and grand-
father and my best friend in the world.

MY DAUGHTER JEANNETTE

Here is my daughter receiving
her Bachelor of Science in Nursing,
she is a registered certified nurse

Cun Lauda. I am so proud of her.

know part of my family, my son-in-
law (really another son) my daughter
Jeannette and the love of my life,
who I have taken care of since he was
two days old, I call him pumpkin pie.

RESURRECTION

This is the long awaited RESURRECTION of which I am so proud to have finally released. This has been in my head and my heart ever since I read the verse from an antique sampler many years ago. I wanted to do this to give praise and thanks to God for all the blessings he has given me.

I had bit and pieces of how I wanted the top part to look, and from there everything else happened. I think God was leading me. So I hope you all like my original design with that very touching verse from my heart.

ANGELS TO GUARD US

Today I want to share with you my latest design. It is called Angels To Guard Us. It was model stitched by my dear friend Kathy aka The Mad Stitcher and we used  silk fibers and 32 count Lambswool linen.

I had this verse from an antique sampler for a couple of years and I wanted to create a design for it, then it struck me that the verse needed to be stitched in a band sampler and that is
how this design happened.

ANGELS TO GUARD US is 185w x 327 h.  Silks were used on this model and I included a DMC conversion.

If you are interested in buying this design contact Kathy (Madstitcher) at madstitcher.com

The finished piece measures 12 1/2 x 22 and on some of the colors you will need 4 and 2 skeins.
